How I manifested my dream apartment in London, UK after moving here from Canada.

Have you ever wanted to do something really big in life? A big change that seems totally scary and yet at the same time so awe-inspiring that you feel if you don’t do it then you might live with regret for the rest of your life?

That was me back in 2018. My sister had died in 2016 from a sudden overdose and it threw my life into upheaval because I knew that where I was at that stage in my life wasn’t where I wanted to be, yet I had been scared to take the leap into the unknown for years. I tended to settle for something in between safety, comfortability, and a fear of the unknown prevented me from changing that.

My sister was 32 when she died. And it made me very quickly realize that life is short, we don’t have endless time to sit around, settling around, living in our comfort zones and putting all our dreams on the back burner. Now I knew I wasn’t about to die of an overdose, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t drop dead at any other moment in the next year (or 10!) through some freak accident or lord knows what, and there was so much I wanted to see and do in the world.

So after a good year and a half of very serious grief, I decided to do something that my family and friends thought was absolutely insane. I applied for a work visa to go to the UK, and having never been there before in my entire life, I packed up my bags, sold everything I owned, and leapt into the unknown.

I had known that I was a powerful manifestor from writing my first book, ‘Positive Power: Unleash Your Inner Magic’ in 2016, which by the way was an accumulation of ways I had learned to manifest my own destiny and been able to do some very extraordinary things already in my life prior to moving across the world alone. That book has now been republished as ‘Positive Power: 12 Steps to Mastering Your Mindset’ and is available on my website for free if you pay the shipping fee, and you can also sign up for my course to help guide you through these steps for yourself; just pop over to www.wealthyoptimist.com

I remember the day I left, I had only a backpack and a purse, my laptop and vlogging camera and not much else. I actually cried on the way to the airport thinking ‘what the hell am I doing? I am really about to do this?’

And then guess what happened?

It changed my entire freaking life.

I landed in Gatwick airport, first time ever being on UK soil, and I took a train into London and stayed at some absolutely horrific hostel (you can watch this entire journey from the beginning on my YouTube channel here: www.youtube.com/wealthyoptimist) and the next morning I went to see a friend of mine who was living in London.

I stayed with her for a few days and then decided to abandon my plans of staying in London and instead go travel around Europe and see places I had only ever dreamed of seeing!

I spent the next few months traveling around Belgium, Greece and the Greek islands, all across France and then living in Italy for a month in Florence. It was a cultural dream come true.

Then after 3.5 months of solo traveling, I went back to London and I stayed at a terrible Airbnb for a month while I tried to figure out if I wanted to live in this gigantic city by myself. I got a job doing freelance copywriting for a company in Sloane Square in Chelsea (pretty prestigious even though I actually had no idea at the time that they did cosmetic surgery for celebrities!) and I worked with them in person for a month before heading back to Vancouver, Canada to figure out the next steps.

When I say the next steps, I mean to say that I had a boyfriend back home who was doing long distance with me this entire time and although I had wanted to get married, he wasn’t ready after 4 years together and I again decided that life is too short to wait for someone who doesn’t even know if they want to be with me — so I went back to Vancouver knowing that I was going to stay a few months and end my relationship and move back to London to get my citizenship.

I ended up being cast in several TV shows in Vancouver, Canada during my few months back home in November 2018-March 2019; including a stunt performance on a very popular TV show called ‘Lost In Space’, among other awesome experiences. (See, I told you I have a knack for manifesting amazing things! And here’s the cincher — YOU CAN TOO. I show you how in my book and course at www.wealthyoptimist.com)

Then come March 2019, I caught a flight back to London and after a few hiccups with the Airbnb I was planning to stay at for a month until I found an apartment to rent, I managed to secure my dream apartment in Canary Wharf. A beautiful one-bedroom flat that overlooked the River Thames and had a beautiful view of the sunset every single night on my balcony in my freaking living room!

All this, all by myself.

Proud is an understatement.

Now look, I know that everyone has different circumstances, yet it doesn’t mean that you can’t do what you’ve always dreamed of doing.

I had to release so much fear, self-doubt and even relationships with people that I loved and cared about to finally start putting myself first. I had to say goodbye to everyone I knew, my entire family included, and I had to take a risk for ME. I had to, because if there’s one thing in this life I know for sure it’s this:

I can live with a million mistakes and heartaches, but I cannot live with regret.
